The programme at a glance:
The opening evening:
To discover the Chocolate Show “like a VIP”, enjoy the Preview Evening on Tuesday 29th October from 7pm! An unprecedented spectacle in the form of a concert-parade will trace the great saga of chocolate, from the discovery of cocoa 500 years ago to our present day. The most beautiful chocolate dresses will also parade to the rhythm of the Calema band. This festive and solidarity evening, which marks the 25th anniversary of the Show, is organised for the Children of Africa Foundation and open to all for a ticket price of 35 euros.
The chocolate dress parade:
Each day, at 5pm, don’t miss the chocolate dress parade where renowned couturiers collaborate with the finest chocolatiers. These will also be on display throughout the Show, outside of parade hours. Innovative and creative creations for what can easily be called haute chocolatier!
The Junior Chocolate Show:
Fun, tasty and educational experiences, an opportunity for the youngest to learn while indulging. An adventure that will allow children and their families to discover chocolate through free patisserie initiation workshops.
The 100% patisserie space:
Major new feature of this 2019 edition: a 100% patisserie space sponsored by Philippe Conticini. Nearly 2,500m2 of exhibitions, animations and demonstrations dedicated to the art of patisserie will be at your disposal. The finest chefs will meet there for gourmet demonstrations as well as book signings. An exhibition of the most beautiful Christmas log cakes, as well as a glass laboratory showcasing the creations of prestige patissiers will also be present. Finally, a tasting lounge will allow you to appreciate your favourites while watching the International French Patisserie Trophy where professionals and amateurs can take part.
The Pastry Show:
Exceptionally master classes given by over 50 renowned chefs who reveal their best chocolate recipes alongside Mercotte, the French bloggers’ favourite.
A bit of history…
In 1994, Sylvie Douce, managing director of an events agency, has the idea to create a show around chocolate. At a dinner, she meets François Jeantet, architect and gastronomic critic, who shares her passion: that of chocolate. The following year, their idea had germinated and the first Chocolate Show opens its doors with 40 exhibitors at the Eiffel Branly space. A successful bet, more than 40,000 visitors flock to attend this greedy event! In subsequent years and given the growing success of the Show, it exports to New York in 1998 then to Tokyo in 2000. From 2005, the conquest of the largest French and international metropolises is underway… Today, the Chocolate Show is around fifteen annual events spread across four continents. In Paris, 110,000 visitors and 230 exhibitors from around the world flock to attend this crazy idea that has become a must-visit.
