It was in 2005 that Matthieu Cany and Brice Bonato founded Sextant French Property with the launch of the website www.sextantproperties.com. After eleven years of trading, success is undeniable. The company now operates internationally and offers its services across numerous areas of activity. Discover the company’s journey and the optimisations made to their websites.
Sextant: rapid development since its creation
The company Sextant launched its activities in October 2005 with the release of its first website www.sextantproperties.com. Building on its success, the site underwent a modernisation process in June 2008 to become more user-friendly.
Between 2009 and 2014, Sextant decided to expand its property business and established itself in new markets to meet demand from international clients. The company therefore launched several other websites:
www.defiscalisation-loi-pinel-gouv.fr
The company’s growth continued to accelerate and Sextant launched the fourth version of www.sextantproperties.com, offering numerous features as well as the second version of www.sextantfrance.fr which is more functional: websites can now be easily viewed on tablets and smartphones.
Why is the English site different from the French site?
Sextant could simply have translated the French site into English, which would have taken only a few hours. This would have been much simpler but far less effective commercially. Indeed, based on the experience accumulated over time since its creation, the company’s team knows that the profiles of international clients differ from those of French clients.
By integrating all these parameters, the designers created a new site that goes beyond a simple facelift. More spacious, user-friendly and dynamic with the introduction of an animated background featuring videos showing scenes of everyday life in France, the new site will perfectly meet the expectations of international clients.
The features of the old site have been improved with some new additions such as an interactive map of France, better ease of use on tablets (which now represent 50% of international visitor traffic) as well as the addition of videos, virtual tours and 3D plans.
Price maps by region have been updated along with the member area which allows users to save their searches and track properties they are interested in. This area is now in secure HTTPS mode to reassure clients and encourage them to sign up, which also enables them to receive newsletters about French property news.
Finally, the 500 pages describing each region, department as well as numerous towns and villages in France have also been updated. The content will be gradually improved to interact more easily with visitors as on this page: https://www.sextantproperties.com/french-alps.
This international dimension, which is specific to the Sextant property network, is now reinforced by a site that targets mid-range and upper-end clients more effectively. Foreign buyers generally have 30% higher purchasing power compared to typical French clients, and this appeals both to agents joining the network and to vendors looking to sell their properties at the best price.
