Mont St Michel vs St Michael’s mount

Posted by Sextant Properties on December 15, 2020
St Michael’s mount is often described as the jewel of Cornwall. There are always been very serious discussion in Cornwall and Normandy about who was the first one to be built.

For those who have not yet got the chance to visit St Michael’s mount, then why not visit the French version in Normandy? The Mont-Saint-Michel and its bay were added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1979, as they rank very high on such World Heritage Site criteria as cultural, historical, and architectural significance, as well as human-created and natural beauty.

Mont St Michel, located near Avranches, is a short drive from ferries going to St Malo and Cherbourg. You can also enjoy some local food with cider or apple liqueur to digest the meal.

If you really fell in love with this small island then why not buy a property a few kilometers away in the countryside where prices are cheaper? You can have a look at our selection of character properties or ask to our team to send you a selection of properties in Normandy by email.
