17th arrondissement of Paris

The 17th arrondissement is located in the north-western part of Paris, on the right bank of the River Seine. It counts four administrative districts:

  • Les Ternes
  • La Plaine-de-Monceaux
  • Les Batignolles
  • Les Épinettes

In Paris 17 you’ll find two large public parks, twenty one public gardens and promenades. Sixteen countries have their embassy or consulate in this district. All amenities are available.

History

Until the 19th century, the 17th arrondissement was located outside the capital, and was formed by several villages such as Les Batignolles or Monceau.

  • Marché des Batignolles
    The Market of Batignolles specialises in organic food and is famous in Paris. Numerous producers offer a large variety of local products, such as meat, cheese, fruit, vegetables, honey, cider, or organic textiles every day of the week.

  • Eglise Saint Odile
    Built in the mid-20th century, the church Saint Odile boasts Byzantine architecture and a high bell tower.
