Hauts de Seine is a department of Ile de France.


Hauts-de-Seine is a department in the the Ile-de-France region and forms part of the western suburbs of Paris. With 2 other departments it forms a ring around the capital, known as the “petite couronne” (small ring).
Outside the parks and woodlands this area is totally urbanized and it’s known for its economic dynamism.
The south-east of the department welcomes the seats of three French television channels.
The main towns are: Colombes, Nanterre, La Garenne, Suresnes and Puteaux with La Defense which is the most important business district.


Sceaux is only 6 miles from the centre of Paris. It’s famous for the its beautiful castle, set in the large park. Downtown of this city is full of charm with its main pedestrian with luxury shops such as bakeries, bookstores and chocolate sellers. Sceaux is listed as the 44th richest city of France. It has also been a place where various music events have taken place with world-class stars as Madonna.

Colombes is the third largest city of Hauts-de-Seine. It has many Olympic sport buildings like an Olympic Stadium Yves-du-Manoir, Olympic Ice Rink and swimming pool. It’s also home to many TV stars, politics, sportsmen and actors.

Levallois occupies the right bank of the Seine. It holds the national density record and it’s one of the most common densely populated in Europe. The most remarkable buildings are: Maire de Levallois and St Justin church. The town has nearly 5000 important companies.

Also on the right bank of the Seine is the town called Neuilly-sur-Seine. The sector most popular is the perimeter of the Bois de Boulogne, and to a lesser extent those of Saint James Park. The sector most wanted by its facilities (shops, schools) remains the vicinity of the avenue du Roule. Between the places worth visiting is the Temple of love, St. Pierre church, castle of Neuilly and the Madness St James. It’s also known for island of Jatte which is residence of famous people.


There are numerous festivals running all over the year. Between the most popular are: choral festival- “La Voix dand tous ses eclats”, Rock en Seine- festival for children in the St Cloud park, several dance festivals, “Antony en musique”- jazz concert, Festival du Val-d’Aulnay- classic music concert, Gospel ‘N Ruei and many street exhibition.
For more active way of spending free time there is mountain biking, climbing, theme parks, golf, fencing, archery, horse riding, skate parks, diving, hiking, skydiving and fishing.
The « must » of visit tour, in this area, is the Malmaison castle- the ancient heart of French government during the consulship. It’s surrounded by 3 beautiful parks of 1815 acres.


The department of Hauts-de-Seine offers a rich gastronomy including some traditional French dishes (mostly influenced by Normandy and Champagne region) mixes with the international cuisine .

By air: 
Easyjet flies from Belfast, Liverpool Newcastle and London Luton to Paris.
Ryanair flies from Shannon, Dublin and Glasgow to Paris.
By rail: 
Eurostar go from London to Paris in just 2h35.
By car: You can travel by car to Paris by taking the ferries which go from Dover to Calais and then you can take the Motorway to Paris.
You can also cross the channel with the Eurostar and stop at Calais. Then you will travel on the motorway directly to Paris.
