Access Le Touquet international airport runs flights to and from Brighton. Calais is only 50 mins from the city and Rouens can be reached in 95 mins. A local train will take you from Paris Gare du Nord to the local staion (Etaples-Le Touquet) within two hours. The A16 motorway from Paris to Calais comprises an exit (no. 26) to reach Le Touquet. Activities Le Touquet has lots of treasures to discover. You can spend a day on the Touquet beach, try a water sport on the river Canche, visit the city’s lighthouse, or just walk in the streets eager to discover the city’s facets from yourself! Le Touquet offers a lot of greeny areas. It has indeed 26 hectares of parcs and gardens, 15 hectares of lawn grass along the streets, 58 hectares of sports fields, etc. The city has a casino, a golf course, a hippodrome, and tennis courts. Every year in February, the Enduropale is a 15 km motorbike race, which takes place on the beach. Every August, you can discover singers during the International Music Festival. In Novembre, the city organises two fairs, which are the Antique dealer and jewellery Fair and the Book Fair, the latter awarding a prize to a writer. In Decembre, women can compete on a tennis court for the Feminin Tennis Open. Food and drink Le Touquet is proud of its local potato called La Ratte du Touquet. In the region, herring is very popular insomuch it has been nicknamed “the fish king” since Middle Ages. Other local dishes include Welsh rarebit, which is toasted bread with melted cheddar and beer; Rollmops, which are herrings with vinegar and onion and the Carbonade Flamande, which is braised beef with beer and onion sauce. The most popular drink there is beer.
