Access
A TGV can bring you to Toulouse, where you can catch a local train to Rodez. The nearest international airport is Rodez-Marcillac, which can be reached in 25 mins. By car, the A75 motorway leads you to the exit Severac-le-Chateau, where you can drive on the RN88 to Rodez.


Activities
Tourism activities range from visiting the history and archeology Fenaille Museum, the national stud farm, the Cathedrale Notre Dame, but also the old city centre. A guided tour enables you to discover the historical aspects of the city by visiting the 13th century cathedral, the Palais Episcopal (bishop’s palace), the colonial house and the rich town houses… all this in two hours.

Among nature activities, there are horse riding (in the Domaine de Combelles), a golf course (18 cups), not to mention the numerous hiking paths.

There are lots of parcs in Rodez, like the Parc de Vabre and the Layoule, where there are games and activities for kids, an arboretum, an acrobatic tour among the trees, etc. Enjoy water activities in the lakes and the nautic centre and ride a bicycle in the Causses to discover wild life parcs.

After all this, you could walk in the small pedestrian streets to discover the city’s shop and cafes. Every Wednesday, Saturday and Friday, the markets give a colourful aspect to the city. There you will meet local producers and taste their specialities.

Food and drink
The region is famous for the Roquefort cheese, but also for the Gascon food and drink, which are fresh fruits and vegetables, duck Foie Gras, Buzet wines and Armagnac. There are a number of places in the area with cookery schools for those who don't want to just eat in restaurants, but have a go themselves at cooking local dishes. This can be just a morning session in a local restaurant or longer courses in luxurious surroundings.
